0430 came around way too fast this morning!!! Start time this morning was just about right on time. I was pretty exhausted and unmotivated this morning. I feel sore everywhere! My shoulders, triceps, and glutes especially. The warm up (jogging in place) was difficult for me to start doing, but I sucked it up and did what was asked of me. This morning's routine consisted mainly of pull-ups & curls (and then Ab Ripper X to top it all off). I was definitely happy when this one came to an end! I am considering adding some whey protein to my milk...not sure if I'll add it every time I drink it, but at least after my work outs. I'm wore out...but I feel good!

Day 8 - Plyometrics
Okay...this is the actual first day I am starting my blog!!! I am still going to create a post for the days before today; they just won't be as detailed as the ones from this point on. Up at 0430 once again to bring it! We didn't actually start until 0600 (planned start time was 0530, but sh*t happens). Stretching out this morning, before the workout, I felt sore a little bit everywhere, but mainly in my lats and triceps. Plyometrics (or jump training) is an @$$ kicker! Say hello to your quads...they will be on fire multiple times throughout this workout. Today was my first experience with plyometrics and it's definintely challenging. I hope I'm not too drained for Muay Thai / No-Gi tonight.
One hour of Muay Thai that consisted of a 50 push-up, 75 sit-up, & 100 body weight squat warm-up. Then we moved on to some Thai pad work consisting of combos including leg checks, kicks, punch combos, & foot jabs. Approximately 6 rounds of working / holding.
One hour of No-Gi consisted of a light warm up run around the mat, 2x shrimp + 2x forward roll, and a little stretching. We then went over / drilled some arm bar, oma plata, triangle transitions. Then we sparred for 3 - 4 rounds.
I'm exhausted! Tomorrow morning is going to be rough!

Day 7 - Chest, Shoulders, & Triceps + Ab Ripper X
Today was actually supposed to be a rest day or a strectch day, but we just went right into the next phase in order to shift our schedule from Tuesday - Sunday to Monday - Friday. I was all for that idea. Maybe, I'll sleep in this Sunday. This was my first experience with one of the P90X main routine workouts, and it was no joke. I was starving yesterday and didn't realize why until after I ate dinner...I had skipped breakfast and didn't even realize it all day. I was wondering why I was so extremely hungry througout the day. Not a good way to do business...especially with my goals!

Day 4 - (was supposed to be) X Stretch
We all arrived at the gym this morning ready to go. One problem...the X Stretch DVD was missing from one of my training partner's sets, my other training partner left his DVD's at home, and I don't own the DVD's. So, half an hour and a few few phone calls later (trying to get someone to bring us the DVD), we decided to just go eat breakfast at IHOP. I was good for the most part...I had the big steak omelette, but substituted the pancakes for fruit. No worries...we took our rest day early...we will make it up!

A little punching, blocking, & kicking...overall, not too bad. At least that I can remember at this point!
Day 2 - Core Synergistics
For my first actual P90X workout (excluding yoga), it was an @$$ kicker. The only thing I can really remember at this time is...B A N A N A ! This was a good workout...lots of fun!
Day 1 - Yoga X
An hour and a half of yoga is no joke. I've done yoga before...a class here, a class there (mainly because I was forced to as some kind of Marine Corps unit or school PT session). It's not easy. A lot of these positions are difficult...and painful! I need to get a yoga block one of these days. After the workout, I feel great.
